Default missed with two barrels, made a hand on the river

1/2 9max - villain is 52/6/1.5 over a small number of hands. Twice since i've sat down he's pushed people off hands for medium pots, and shown random garbage. MP1 is 40/12 and seems generally donkish.

button ($85.52 in chips)
SB ($359.30 in chips)
BB ($65.60 in chips)
UTG ($215.50 in chips)
UTG+1 ($98.66 in chips)
MP1 ($218.95 in chips)
Hero ($396.60 in chips)
Villain ($344.10 in chips)
CO ($201.60 in chips)

Hero is dealt A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]

2 folds, MP1 raises to $4, Hero raises to $16, Villain calls, 5 folds, MP1 calls

Flop ($51) - 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]

MP1 checks, hero bets $32, Villain calls, MP1 folds

Turn ($115) - 5[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]

hero bets $76, villain calls

River ($267) - K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]

hero... ?

I'd probably check-call. I do enough double-barrel bluffing that a check for me usually shows weakness, and I think he'd bet QQ-99 here pretty frequently for value. I think you can pick off a lot of bluffs here.

A bet here could work, too, but I'm not sure what you would do to a raise. Pretty read-dependent, I guess. Is he likely to be calling you down with trips here? How aggro have you been?

If you think he thinks you're aggro, I like a check-call. Otherwise, I like a bet. I'd probably fold to a raise without good pot odds, but it's pretty read-dependent.

What do you think the villains calling range on the flop is? Will he fold draws on the turn? Does he like to raise marginal hands or flush draws on the flop? Does he trap larger hands or fast play them? Were you betting the turn for value and planning on calling a bet on a blank river?

Completely player dependent. Gut says bet 50 and fold to a raise, but if he's aggressive this line is chip spewing. Check calling is the best line against an aggressive player but this could also be suicidal. Your line has shown alot of strength and unless he's been calling to bluff you off your hand there isn't really anything you beat that would have gotten this far and would bet this river except a bluff. It boils down to will he bluff X amount more than X/(X+Pot) of the time.

bet out.. fold to a raise.

what can you beat here?

flush draw was made, theres a pair on the board.

fire one more shell here and if he comes over the top you're gone.. but if he folds its good and if he calls its probably good unless he was playing a scared 8.

Very tough spot here, considering it looks like he's on a spade draw, maybe an overpair. I would check here and hope for a free showdown. Against most players I would check fold, but given your read on the villain I think a check call is in order.
