Default $500NL - pushing turn on straight draw

Villain is 24/20/4.25 over 229 hands. VPIP from SB = 42, WTSD = 17. First big pot I've played with him.

No Limit Holdem Ring game
Blinds: $2/$5
6 players
Converter

Stack sizes:
UTG: $540.97
UTG+1: $903.50
CO: $683.50
Hero: $506.25
SB: $509
BB: $2106.24

Pre-flop: (6 players) Hero is Button with 7[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]
3 folds, <font color="#cc0000">Hero raises to $17</font>, <font color="#cc0000">SB raises to $55</font>, BB folds, Hero calls.

Flop: T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] ($115, 2 players)
<font color="#cc0000">SB bets $68</font>, Hero calls.

Turn: 7[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] ($251, 2 players)
SB checks, <font color="#cc0000">Hero is all-in $383.25</font>

Fold preflop? On flop? Push flop? Check turn? Standard? Kill self?

Thx.

Push flop, as played check the turn because a river shove looks stronger

Pushing flop is ridiculously bad.

Are you saying shove any river? I understand (maybe) that a river push has more fold equity, but a turn push has a lot more pot equity.

So we're using the float to get a free card here. Is that a play you think is any good?

Since his line looks a lot like a Cbet that's given up, or TPMK going for pot control, don't you think a turn push will win the pot many more times than we will hit our draw? And won't it be hard to pick up the pot on the river if we miss, without our line looking exactly like a missed draw?

if you're gonna make a play, i'd rather that you do it on the flop.

and on this turn when you hit a few potential extra outs, take a free chance to get them.

If you call flop often rather than raise, I like turn bet. But I think you should bet around 150 $ rather than shove. You represent AK really reliable if you like to call flop and revaluate/raise turn.

If you are not tricky floater/slowplayer type of player but more like straightforward type, take free card.
