Turning Stone $340 hand v. luckychewy
The table is just in the process of sitting down and there's only 5 seats occupied (JOY!), but seat 1 is mlagoo and seat 2 is kristyB (sp), so it's not like I'm open raising 100% of hands versus old nits, but rather open raising 100% of hands versus tight solid-ish players.
Blinds 25/50 and starting stacks of 3000. I raise the first hand and take down pre, raise second hand to my standard opener UTG+1 (to 175) and realize that UTG had already opened to 150. oops! UTG has the similar appearance to myself of 18-20 ish, internet'ish player, though for all intents and purposes in the actual hand itself I figured him to maybe also be a local kid who would never fold AA postflop. so, i have to call the 150, KristyB calls from the blinds. My hand is 64o Pot is 450 and the flop is T [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]5 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]3 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] . Checked to UTG who fires 300. I flatcall planning to valuestack top pair or better at a later point or rep diamonds. KristyB folds. Turn comes the beautifuil 2 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] and villain fires 700 leaving 1,900 behind. What is better, shoving or flatcalling? |

Re: Turning Stone $340 hand v. luckychewy
this looks like a good situation to mini-raise.
EDIT: you have the nuts even a player with KK,AA,QQ they will be hard pressed to not call a min raise. |

Re: Turning Stone $340 hand v. luckychewy
so i was gonna respond with like "obv push sucka" but i dont think its so obvious.
the only real downside to calling is that some scare cards could come on the river that would kill your action. but most of the time a scare card doesnt come, and you get one more bet out of top pair/an overpair when he check/calls you. so i think calling is good. |

Re: Turning Stone $340 hand v. luckychewy
call, basically he is setting up the pot for a river shove it looks like he's drawing dead 98% of the time and you can still have a widishing range to FD+ straight draws and A10ish type hands even JJ especially if he noticed you tried to raise.I also think if river blanks he may try to induce a bluff in his eyes and your stack is perfect to shove with your whole range and he prob knows that.

call and hope for a none diamond river he should then bet again maybe even push. If he does not push raise him all in.

Re: Turning Stone $340 hand v. luckychewy
Let's say we call.
The river is a diamond. The 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] for instance. Villain pushes. Hero? Villain checks. Hero? |

Re: Turning Stone $340 hand v. luckychewy
wtf luckychewy was at TS and didnt introduce himself?
-- i think i shove the turn. he's pretty committed to the pot; our hand is pretty disguised and there are a bunch of cards that kill our action, and he's not always going to bluff missed draws, |
