Default Rule question, poll.

UTG raises, 4 callers. On the flop the original raiser leads out with all players involved calling. On the turn the original raiser bets and gets raised. The next player to act asks the dealer who the pre-flop raiser was.

Nice poll considering you can't see the results till you close it.

The dealer is not supposed to answer questions on the previous street's actions. Just like after a hand is over and a hand is shown, then mucked. Player asks the dealer what it was...they are under no obligation to tell that player anything after the hand is over.

[/ QUOTE ] I set the poll up that way to try and not influence anyones decision. May have been a mistake.

Since the OP knows the answer to this I am curious why he set upthe poll.

[/ QUOTE ] More of a quiz than a poll I guess. I had this happen today and it caused quite a scene. It was an eye opener that the players involved didn't know the answer. It was in a 20-40 game with players that play everyday. I thought it was basic.

It doesn't matter:

If you're coldcalling and you don't know who raised, you have no chance of wining, and it doesn't matter anyways.

It isn't required for the dealer to have this knowledge; since the dealer will not always know the answer when the situation occurs, she should not answer this question.

Yes, the dealer should answer.

It would be rude to ignore the question. The answer should be, "Sorry, I'm not allowed to help you with that."

(Had you there for a minute, didn't I?)

I always say "I don't remember" but inevitably someone at the table, usually someone not in the hand, barks out the answer
