PokerStars 3/6 Hold'em (6 handed) pokerhand.org hand converter
BB is same as previous hand (33/9/1.07) This is later in the session and I am starting to feel like this guy floats every flop and bets whenever weakness is shown. He also shows down light. Preflop: Hero is CO with 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. 2 folds, Hero raises, 1 fold, SB calls, 1 fold. Flop: (5 SB) K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 3[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players) SB checks, Hero bets, SB calls. Turn: (3.50 BB) K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players) SB checks, Hero checks. River: (3.50 BB) 6[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players) SB bets, Hero calls. Final Pot: 5.50 BB 2 questions: 1)Is turn too weak? I feel like this guy is calling very lightly here and is sick of me winning pots against him. 2)Do you pay off river here with this marginal Ace? |

Turn is excellent if what you say about him is really true.

Standard line for me against a not too aggressive opponent is to bet the turn. If he shows down light, then he probably also peels light. However if you think he might be the type to make a move on the turn (your read doesn't seem to say so) or if he often bluffs the river after a turn checkthrough (knowing the results of the first hand you posted might help there) then checking the turn could be best.
If I check the turn, then I call the river. |

If you're planning on calling the river here why not just bet the turn? I think I bet the turn and c/f the river unless I get an Ace.

if you're thinking about folding here you should bet/fold the turn.

^Agreed, but I don't think you should fold this river, or bet the turn. That's a really good bluff card for you on the turn, and if he's betting whenever you look weak, then checking it is going to let him bluff with ANYTHING.
I check this turn and call the river and expect to win. |

^Agreed. I'm just saying if calling the river is a tough decision (it isn't based on OPs description), you should bet the turn.
