100 NL QQ - How and where do I find a fold on this hand??
Sorry about the lack of a hand convertor. This hand was on Bodog and it's difficult to get hand histories. These types of hands completely frustrate me becaue I obviously got outplayed and fell victim to "going broke with one pair" like the donks we like to play
So I raise QQ in MP and an early position limper calls. Pot is ~11 bucks. Flop 8s 9s 3c Ok that's a decent flop. I lead out for 10. EP check minraises me here. can't just muck QQ here can i?? I call. I have no idea what he has at this point. I wait to see what he does on the turn in position. Pot is ~51 Turn : 4D That's a blank. Villain leads out for 18. double-u-tee-eff?? That's a really small bet and I call getting good odds Pot is ~87 River : 3D Another blank. This time villain bets 30. I make another crying call and muck my hand in disgust as Villain shows AA. Given that I had no reads on Villain. At what point do I think about folding this hand? Is there a better line I could have taken? How do I deal with those small value bets? Do I forget about what the pot is laying me in terms of odds at some point and just give up? Or do I just donate almost a full buyin with QQ everytime someone smoothcalls with AA or KK preflop (I'd have no problem getting away from this hand if preflop was more standard i.e. Villain reraises me.) I suck at poker! |

Re: 100 NL QQ - How and where do I find a fold on this hand??
I might fold against the mini c/r on the flop, but maybe that's too weak. I found out that a lot of times when mini c/r'ed on the flop from an unknown, I'm facing a better hand than me.
I'm interested to see what others think about this. |

Re: 100 NL QQ - How and where do I find a fold on this hand??
I hate min-raises like that -- they often indicate a better hand or a good draw, but they are hard to get away from. You got to see it pretty cheaply, which is good with QQ vs AA. I'd like to say "fold to the min-c/r," but I doubt I could do it in the situation without a good read. People who slow-play AA, especially limping pf then flat-calling a raise, do not deserve to win!
