BEAT: my girl gets a death threat

So my new girlfriend received a death threat on myspace and I'm not sure what my best play is.

Background:
(All parties involved are under 25 years old.)
Over a year and a half ago (way before I even met her) my gf went to Catalina Island for the day with a group of friends. She met some friends of friends that day, but didn't particularly get to know any of them really, and most definately did not get any numbers, flirt, or hook up with any of them.

Fast forward 18 months later to couple of weeks ago and my gf gets this random message on myspace from a girl asking if my gf slept with her husband. She explained that her husband had met her that day in Catalina, and was supposedly in love with her, wrote her a song, and she suspected him for cheating on her with my gf. She also mentioned that her husband was, however, a pathological liar. This is completely 100% false, my gf barely even talked to the guy that day, she had no clue she'd ever even talk to/hear anything about this guy ever again.

She then gets a message from the disgruntled wife's husband, the guy from catalina, saying that his wife is just really upset because he found the song he wrote for my gf. He goes on to say that he is sorry for the incovenience and for dragging her into their fight. HE then keeps rambling about his life, and how he thinks he might love my gf dhuhuhdudhduhdudh.... all this weird unreasonable stuff.

My gf responded politely to both of them that she didn't have anything to do with the husband and she would like to be left alone.

The wife messaged my gf a few more times trying to get a confession out of her, and spilling her guts about her marriage problems.

The husband messaged my gf again too saying he'd like to see her again one day or talk to her jsut once... but that he is going to work things out with his wife.

My gf ignored the last messages from both of them.

The most recent message she got is from the husband, and he said all this stuff about he is in the mafia, hes been to jail, and that my gf [censored] with the wrong person. HE says his people know where she lives, works, and parties, and that she is going to get jumped by people with a basebal bat.

I know this guy is unstable, he is a [censored] nutcase from the way he talks to some girl hes met once in his life. My instict is to print all the messages out and take them to the cops to see what can be done. What do you think my play should be?

Cliff notes: my gf received a death threat from some crazy dude she met once a long time ago. I want to figure out what the best play is to both make sure he never lays a finger on her, and he suffers the worst pain possible (hopefully getting his child taken away from him and ruining his marriage even more).
