Default Sandals Jamaica Advice

I'm using my pokerstars FPP points to buy some travel gift certificates for sandals in jamaica.

I've narrowed my choices down to Sandals dunn's river and Sandals Negril. at this point it is basically a coin flip and i'm looking for something to sway my mind.

Anyone who has been to either of these locations i would appreciate some input on your opinions of the pros/cons of these resorts

My parents have been to each place, and I think they've been to Negril three times. I'll post later and tell you which they prefer.

I know they LOVE both places. I've been to Jamaica twice and it was fantastic both times (never to Sandals though).

Consider Sandals Whitehouse, too.

Absolutely wonderful, but pricey.

Never been to Dunn's River so can't compare but Ive been to Negril a couple times, most recently in 04, I love the place. I stayed at the Riu last time, right next to Sandals. Sandals is on Bloody bay, between Hedonism and Riu. Its a quiet beach compared to the main Negril beach which is ok because you wont get bothered by the "braid your hair" "buy a coconut" sales people that walk Negril beach all day. Sandals itself looked high end to me, not a real loud party place, at about $2500/week I think, you'd expect this. They have a daily sunset happy hour catamaran cruise that was packed every day. Rick's is the best place for sunsets, happy hour, music, cliff divers, if you're going single this will be the great place to hook up before the clubs get going.
-Some people like the drive from the airport to negril, I can't stand it, too long and slow. They have small aircraft that will get you there for about $100 from Montego Bay in about 20 minutes.
-I wouldn't take rides in Negril from non-sanctioned cabs...you'll know what I mean when you get there.
-if you "smoke" do not buy anything until you get to Negril. Get to know a Sandals employee immediately. No matter how much you tell him you want, there is no way you will ever be able to finish what you get. $20 goes along way here, and in Negril the stickier the stuff the better.
-From the Riu I got a fisherman to give us rides over to Negril beach most days for sunsets, dinner, etc. About $40/ride. Brought beers and smoke, great way to travel! If no fisherman ask the kid that runs the aquatic center for Sandals or Riu.

The wife is a travel agent, and she says if you want stuff to do, Dunns is the place. If you want quiet, and a more beautiful beach. Negril is the place.
