$25NL or $10NL??
Ok quick question, I just took down 3rd in a PS $2 MTT and I bumped my roll from $488 to around $815 or so. I mostly 3-4 table NL tables and was wondering if you guys thought I should be at $25NL or stick with $10NL? I had moved up before to $25NL and felt like I was playing disgustingly too tight and was taking some beats with my big pairs and such. So I dropped back down to $10NL and was up about 6 buy ins. Is 3-4 tabling $25NL(Having $75-$100 in play) still a little too high for me? or is 3-4 tabling $10NL a little too low? Or is it really about comfort? Im a little nervous to jump back up ther bc like I said Im up 6 buy ins since Monday. Any thoughts?

Re: $25NL or $10NL??
don't play at a level you're not comfortable playing, and more importantly not properly 'rolled for.
10NL. |

Do 25NL and if you have a bad start then move down, if you lose like 200.

Re: $25NL or $10NL??
Agree with the comfort level. I recently moved up from 10NL to 25NL, and I play much better. I think playing for a little more money has made me concentrate more (I have the bankroll). I know it's bad psychology and it shouldn't affect how I play, but losing $10 was no big deal. Losing $25 is a much bigger deal. I'm also making more, which is nice. I really am playing much better poker.
Try it with only one or two tables. (I play only two -- I know I'll get flamed, but I don't play with software, so more than two it's tough to keep track of players.) Or, maybe have one 25NL table and two or three 10NL if you think you will get bored. |

Re: $25NL or $10NL??
For a while when I moved up the same thing happened, I value'd the money more and I was playing alot more focused. I started taking a few beats and I looked back over my stats and my flop% was just awful, and I kinda pointed my finger at the fact I was playing with $450-$500 and playing $25NL and I think it forced me to tighten up. Thats great when you're winning with the big hands, sucks when you're losing with them bc you dont see enough flosp to make any other hands.
So I dropped back down to $10NL and was thinking the same thing, I dont care about $10, which I dont, that being said Im sitting at 4 tables and trying to see more flops with hands that flop huge, small pairs, suited connectors, etc and its been pretty productive. I wanna be able to sit at a table and not have to think about the cash, just about winning chips |

Errrr, I misread your initial post...you're definately rolled for 25NL if you're comfortable at that level. Re: $25NL or $10NL??
$500 is plenty for NL25 as long as you are comfortable at that level. I started from scratch at NL25 4 tabling with basically $200.

Re: $25NL or $10NL??
Holy [censored] [censored], move up. You're fine to play NL50 right now if you feel comfortable there. I know popular opinion is 20 buyins, but for NL50 and below 15 should be plenty. I'm playing like [censored] and running like [censored] lately and still managing to beat NL50. If you are not comfortable at NL25 then do not play there, but you certainly have the roll for it.

Re: $25NL or $10NL??
When I switched sites I bought in for $300 and felt very comfortable playing the $25 tables. I play tight ABC and I found it to be fairly low variance.
Though I knew I cold afford to put more money in if I lost it. |
