10NL: JJ is weak!
This is one of those spots where I really lose my aggression. I feel like I'm doomed with some overcards hitting the flop when I'm holding JJ. I feel like I can't fold them preflop, but I really lose my aggression and can't figure out what to do. I used to think JJ was an awesome hand, but now I feel like it's very vulnerable.
If I remember correctly, this CO has been playing back at me alot. He has been calling alot of my preflop raises. It was starting to make me frustrated because I couldn't get him to fold. His stats are 42.42/24.24/2.10 over 66 hands. Re: 10NL: JJ is weak!
Nobody said JJ was a good hand, but it certainly is one of the better ones (although its strength lies more in tournaments imo).
Easy fold here on the flop. |

Re: 10NL: JJ is weak!
This is horrible. You're betting ten cents into a dollar pot and you are going to get raised by this villain no matter what he is holding. I am def. repopping this PF to at least a buck and leading the flop. As played - check call this flop. You can't be playing this passively and expect to make money.

Re: 10NL: JJ is weak!
Your .10 bet into a $1 pot on the flop is terrible. If I was CO, I would raise you with 23o.
Against a very loose/aggressive opponent, I'd say make a pot sized bet here. |

Re: 10NL: JJ is weak!
Yeah I don't know what I was thinking. This was one of my first hands back into cash games and I was trying to feel him out. My thinking was that if he just called that .10, he probably only had overcards. If he raised me, he probably had a high pair giving me a cheap fold.
So I should have reraised preflop before anything. |

Re: 10NL: JJ is weak!
I agree with almost everyone.
You've got to re-raise with JJ pre-flop: these hands don't come along very often. With a flop of Q 8 8, you'll come out swinging. As played, re-raise with CO with a pot-sized bet. If he jams, you've got a decision to make. However, his initial raise of your min-bet means nothing. Alternatively, just call on the flop and c/r all-in on the turn if a blank hits. You're usually ahead on this flop with your JJ. |

Re: 10NL: JJ is weak!
Against this opponent, I like a RR preflop. As played, you're getting at least implied odds to hit a set and stack him if you just call preflop (+ sometimes you'll have an overpair). If you're going to make a flop bet, make a real bet, something like $.80. The $.10 bet just screams, "I'm scared of the board, if you raise I'll fold."

Re: 10NL: JJ is weak!
I'd probably 3bet this opponent preflop. Because his raising range is rather broad you reraise him for value. But also you can get some useful information from him: if he comes over the top you can lay it down and if he calls you can be pretty confident betting into him with an overpair. JJ can be a tricky hand, especially out of position, so it's good to know where you probably stand.
And as said by others, the minbet on the flop is no good. As played bet 4/5 pot or something. I'd probably fire a second barrel on a call and a blank turn and freeze up after that. But that also depends on factors like table image. Anyhow, that's my take on it. |

Re: 10NL: JJ is weak!
First: Either raise or fold out of the SB, its the worst position at the table.
Two: Min bet screams weakness. |
