Default Lee Jones versus PT Stats.....

Hi, i've recently moved from NL tournament poker back to low limit cash games, in order to build a bank roll. About 3 years ago i started playing low limit cash games and used Lee Jones 'winning low limit holdem' strategy. Basically its playing nit poker, no bluffing etc, just aggressive flop hitting poker.

This seems to work for me, and recently i've played exactly the same way and it still works. So can someone explain what the benefit at this level of using PT etc would be, as i dont know whether i'm missing something from my game.

Bruiser500, basically one of the best high stakes NL pros, doesn't bother using it, or at least didn't the last time I read one of his posts.

However, I don't think Lee Jones would mind if you used PT. It costs about $55 I think, if you're interested.

PT makes up for those too lazy to make their own observations on opponents range and style and will never be a worthy replacement above a certain limit.

It is useful for us donks though.

why is it PT versus Lee Jones, doesn't Lee jones advice you to buy the Poker Tracker.

more information isn't going to hurt you game any and the information it provides on your opponents is useful. It's particuarly useful when you first sit down on a table and already have a lot of information on the people at that table.

If you use Poker tracker to compliment your own notes and view then it helps, if you use poker tracker instead of making your own notes then statistics don't always tell the whole truth and could cost you.

One of the major benefits of poker tracker is being able to monitor your own statistics and replaying sessions and this is a function used when you aren't actually playing poker, so you could have the best of both worlds. Poker tracker helps me by showing me how many hands people play and their aggression. You can also see how many times people go to a showdown and bluff or not bluff them.

One simple use is, if you see a tight player raise it up then you know it's time to drop those marginal hands but you could probably tell that from your own notes.

it is also useful to look for leaks in your own game.
