Default Immokalee, FL casino question

I will be traveling to Marco Island with family in May. I saw that this casino is about an hour away and wondered if it was worth the drive to escape the family for a few hours. If anyone has been there can you let me know how the poker is there? Thanks

I have not been, but it's probably not worth the drive. I'm willing to bet ten bucks on that, but we'll have to settle for two.

I have never been to Immokalee but have been to their sister casinos in Hollywood and Coconut Creek.

With the stakes being as horridly low as they are, you're better off staying with your family instead of playing cards in a backasswards shack in nowheresville.

Marco Island is beautiful. Enjoy it.

Here's the lowdown on the seminole casino in Immokalee. The casino is a big barn in the middle of the Ghetto. If you have never been to Immokalee before its not the safest place in florida. Picture gangs sitting on porches and everything has bars on the windows. Once you get to the Casino everything is safe but the second you get off the property you should be scared.

The casino only has slot machines, video games, and a poker room. The poker room spreads low limit games and sit-n-gos. The highest game is called $2 action. This is hold em with $2 ante and $2 bets the whole way. Might as well plan on putting $10 in to see a flop with 8 people. Lots of action, and no one will fold. I have not tried the SNG's but I think they range from $50 to $100 buy in.

Save yourself the letdown and stay with your family you aren't missing anything.

Marco is paradise. Immokalee is the end of humankind. The casino is about the worst place one could imagine spending any time gambling. Love the bet ten settle for two line, cause it's absolutely true. Poker bingo at its finest. Enjoy the Island. Sweet. Don't bother with spending 4 hours to and fro, going to a place you won't want to be at. Stick to the sunny beaches.

jeeez, I wish someone would have posted this BEFORE I headed to that rathole !!! GMFlash01 has nailed it perfectly .. so here's my trip report to Immokalee.

Yeah, it looked nice, ONLINE - I was in Naples (extremely beautiful by the way) and figured let me check out the poker action before I got down there. It looked to be around a 45 minute drive, so I figured I'd check it out. So, here I am driving my rental car down this DARK LONELY road on a Wednesday night, because I must be a retard. It was a single lane highway with like NO civilization in site. I live in Philly and can play REAL poker just about anywhere at any time, and even have a shore house 10 minutes from AC where I usually play so WHY THE HELL am I driving to this crappy place ? I still don't know. I finally get there after what seemed like forever, and it was just as GMFlash described - and better yet, it was like playing BINGO POKER !!! No one EVER folded. What the hell possessed me to 'check this out' ?? And, I drove out there MYSELF -- mistake #1 .. if I had crashed off that damn road, I'd STILL be out there or eaten by panthers or crocs, who knows! The action was horrible and I had committed to basically losing $100 and leaving. I stayed a whole 2 hours and left - only to find out the NEXT DAY that there was a pretty decent Dog Track about 10 miles from where I was staying and was a quick 15 minute drive !! WHAT A MORON I am !! I did check that out the following night, and actually placed 3rd in a no-limit tournament they had going .. but, didn't even get my money back !! Sat and donked off another $100 at the 'bingo game' where a nice guy from NY proceeded to tell me he was down $800 at that point - I'm like - In THIS game ? HOW ??? Anyway, it was fun, and I was not there to make money - just see what it was all about, but unless they raise the stakes down in Florida, I will NOT be doing THAT next year !!!

oh gosh, i wish i'd read this thread earlier... i've booked my fiance and me into immokalee for our week and a half honeymoon. i'd heard that naples and sanibel were beautiful, but this looked close and was alot cheaper... will there be alot for my wife to do in immokalee when i'm playing poker?

o.k, maybe my comments above aren't 100% true

that is a nice dogtrack in bonita though. did very well on the dog betting when i was there once someone showed me how to read the form. didn't seem like the fastest dogs were the favorites and there was all kinds of that gross inefficiency where place or show bets pay as much or more than higher bets. pretty small handle though.... i was expecting a dump (having heard "idiot" jim rome on dog tracks) but it was very nice.
