No way you should fold online here. Check call down; if the turn is checked through, check raise the river.

Absolutely not. Just call down. Don't, however, do something silly like bet-fold the turn. If he uses his position well and checks behind the river with KQ or whatever so be it, just showdown your hand.

[ QUOTE ] donking this flop is bad. [/ QUOTE ] why? [/ QUOTE ] b/c you are either way ahead or way behind right now so you want to get to SD cheaply. You don't want to fold something like KK, JJ, 1010, 99 and maybe even KQ. Let him continue to bet it for you. You also don't want to get smoked by something like AK, AQ, or QQ. Also, a donk here usually means the person has crap, a fd or a medium piece and is trying to feel out. You will be raised by a lot of lesser hands and can then get pushed of their hand. Don't let them bully you with position. |

man, you should have raise there!
It is reasonable to assume that the opponent has KK, simply because he three-bet |

if the turn is checked through, check raise the river. [/ QUOTE ] That's pretty aggressive play. I'd normally just bet the river. Too much of a chance he'll check again. |

If I'd get raised, I'd usually call down and it was amazing how often AJo was still good. In these slightly higher stakes, I feel like a donkey lately, missing value bets and betting value for my opponent... so I've been trying to temper my aggression with more bet/fold lines. I like the WA/WB check/call line a lot to turn the tables on the "betting value for my opponent" ledger. In fact, thinking about it, if I had AK I think I like the check call line a lot too (until he checks behind on turn and rivers a flush with KQs!). I feel like I've learned something today. Thanks |
