Suppose it depends on if he's generally passive postflop or if you've seen him make some tricky moves in spots like this. I typically bet here and fold to a raise.

Well, for BB to be able to check-raise the river, he has to believe that you will call with AK, so I think bet/fold is correct. But we don't have a very good read on this player, and he could have A8, and you will be getting 11-1, so folding to a river check-raise is not easy. I don't think it's a clear cut decision either way though personally I fold due to all the combinations of hands this donkey could have that destroy my measly top pair hand.

Bet for value. You should probably fold to a raise.

Hmm... definite bet, probably bet/call but I'm not sure. I know you got CR'd here, however for the sake of shania it's a tough bet/fold on the river.

Folding to river raises against a good player getting 11:1 is a leak.
Folding to river raises against an unknown getting 11:1 is a leak.
Folding to river raises against a loose passive that never raises without the goods, getting 11:1 is not a leak.

Now we just have to determine which category villain belongs to.....

Must be nice to live in a poker world where your decisions can be made by applying such rigid rules.

Must value bet river. If I bet/called the river, it would be one of those calls I "knew" I was beat but called anyways. Then, after I called, I would wonder why I called. If I bet/folded the river, then I would feel like I'm playing well. IMO, bet/fold is the correct play, but I admittedly sometimes make the wrong play here.
