best way to do cardio in terms of just burning fat
i've been doing cardio ( on an eliptical, my knee is too bad to run or use the treadmill or stairmaster ) for 20-40 minutes after my weight lifting for the past few weeks. usually i do this at 6 or 7 at night. i know that the main purpose of cardio is to get your metabolism pumping and what not, and that it isn't really that great of a fat burner. what could i do if i wanted to do daily cardio that WOULD be really good for burning fat? i have 20 or 30 pounds i've been carrying around mostly in my gut and butt and i'm in a real hurry to get rid of it.
fwiw i'm dieting pretty hardcore too and have already lost 22 pounds since i started dieting. |

if you have a pool, put on a life jacket, and jog in place for twenty minutes or so. stay as vertical as possible.

whats wrong with your knee? [/ QUOTE ] i don't know, i just got a referral to the x ray place from my doctor and should know within a week. it feels like part of the kneecap cracked or moved around or something. it doesn't hurt that much anymore unless i'm doing something stressful. i can't do squats, leg extensions etc, but cardio on the eliptical feels fine. i probably need surgery, in which case i will be posting about how to keep my weight loss going while bed ridden for 2 months |

[/ QUOTE ] We used to do this on the tennis team, only without the life jacket and no paddling allowed - the hands had to stay open, but with fingers in a vertical plane so as to not get any swimming action. It was hell. I can't say how much fat it burns, though, as we were all (except for one) in pretty good shape already. |
