Default 5 months in Melbourne: Summary

Well, my time in beautiful Melbourne has come to an end. Arrived on the 11th October to pursue a bit of a dream and play semi-professional cricket on the other side of the world.
Since turning 'pro' late in 2005, poker has created some wonderful opportunities for me, and this was without doubt the best.

The weather has been fantastic, I played some great cricket and the Aussies have all been great to socialise with.

One of the highlights was practise bowling at the Western Australia boys at the MCG including Justin Langer and co. When you walk out into that stadium (see avatar) you simply feel you shouldn't be allowed on that grass it is so pristine!

Oh - and I fell in love with Alicia (Beat: she cant come to England for 3 months).

I will be back to this wonderful city in September to do it all again. Very much possible that I will end up living here. Spending my winter here even cured my tendancy to get mildly depressed (blame those dark times on the lack of daylight in the UK).

I didn't play as much poker as I had planned.

372.4 hours to be precise - mainly at 5/10 and 10/20 where I won about 1.6BB/100.

$18,849.48 profit at $50.62 an hour.

Party unmentionable got me another $7462 at $20.04 an hour.

Cliffnotes: Had the best 4 1/2 months of my life. Fell in love. Got paid $70.66 an hour to do it.

Gday

A+, would read again.

Small beat: Spending all your time in Mexico? NSW is better than Melbourne

Possible brag: Justin Langer hit you for three consecutive 6's?

Sounds great mate.

Melbourne is a great city. I was there for a week a few months ago. Did you go to Crowns a lot?

Yeah, Melbourne is great. Been there for like 2 weeks during Oz Millions, and the city rocks.

I guess you've also been playing quitte some live poker in Crown? The limit games are very good there...
