Default First Live at Foxwoods - Signing Up, Etc

Weather permitting, I'm heading to Foxwoods to play live there for the first time ... Just gonna play 1/2 NL ... I know where I sign up ... Do I need to get chips before I sit, or can I get them after I sit down at the table ... Also, what's the rake and other fees for playing the 1/2NL there ???

Edit: The search function for the past year in this forum didn't uncover anything ... My apologies if I missed it ... I've read the FAQ ... Just looking for a couple specifics for Foxwoods ...

1/2 NL is a 300max game.. get chips at the cage before you go to the table b/c its extremely annoying and slows the game down when you buy chips there.. not to mention it increases the amount of fills your table needs.. aka, less hands.

there is no rake.. they take a $5/hr time charge.

good luck.

Sweet! Foxwoods lowered the vig. It was $10/hr the last time I played.

I think he meant to put 5 per half hour.

agreed. $50/hr revenue at full ring barely pays for the dealer.

$5 per 1/2 hour

and please, buy your chips before sitting. i was there friday and sunday, both days had long lists, and as soon as someone sat they'd need to buy from the dealer. it was a constant process, and it slowed the game down considerably.

Couple of pointers.

1. Don't open pots for $6 like you would online, if you have a hand worth raising make it $10-$15..

2. People are going to draw on you if you bet less than $20 postflop, this includes any pair drawing to 2-pair, if you make a bigger bet $50+ you'll fold out most hands. Use this info to bluff/valuebet liberally

3. If you can afford it, play the 2/5nl, the players aren't much better and you can get a much higher hourly.

Thanks to all who posted ... I played for 2-1/2 hours (I just wanted to get the "first time live" out of the way ... It was, indeed, $5 per half hour, so I will probably play $2/$5 next time ... OMG, I could not believe the play ... 10 of us, only two others of which had a decent clue ... I was going to play TAG, but couldn't catch a face card the first hour ... Loosened up a bit, and finished just down $27 ... I missed some value bets, and laid down top pair too many times early on bet, call, re-raise hands when I was waaaaay ahead ... Once I figured out the players, I played my draws a bit more aggressive, and played the players far more than the cards ... It was fun, and I can't wait to go back, again, this time knowing what I know (even though you guys prepped me ahead of time, I couldn't believe the $1/$2 would be as bad as the penny/two penny Stars tables LOL) ...
