Default Beat: I just lost a friend of six years

Beat: I just lost a friend of six years because she's sick of me saying that you can win long term at poker. It's gambling and therefore you MUST lose long-term, despite the fact that poker's not house-banked. I try to counter with the Bill Chen Coin Flip Argument and she sticks her fingers in her ears and goes "la la la".

Brag: I'm no longer associated with a dumb, immature bitch.

Variance: I just learned that poker pros like Cunningham, Ivey, and Brunson are lucksacks, and that their profits are going to run out sooner or later, I just know it!

Discuss.

Your girl isn't a moron because she thinks what she does. She's a moron because she won't reconsider her previous perspective in light of evidence to the contrary.

Or you're a moron for not presenting that evidence effectively.

This thread needs a pole.

I don't get it. You are friends with some one for 6 years and you never before realised that she is such a moron and could be predisposed to having such silly views about poker?

it's natural for someone to think everyone loses in the long run at gambling, but poker's different and evidently u didn't explain this to her, or well enough anyway...

if she sticks her fingers in her ears as a response when u try to argue the merits, maybe it's not such a bad thing u lost her as a friend...

At least she didn't die, which is what I thought when I opened this thread. Seriously, if you're not friends over this disagreement, then you probably don't have a lot in common anyway. It is a beat if you've been trying to bang her for 6 years....

Uh.. Of course it's impossible to win in the long run, my youth minister told me so. No casino would be around if they played games you could actually win.

*LA LA LA*
