200NL - 4-bet bluff got me in trouble.
Villain is a good TAG.
Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ BB (5 handed) internettexasholdem.com SB ($198) BB ($244.55) Hero ($546.58) MP ($510.85) Button ($274.95) Preflop: Hero is UTG with A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. SB posts a blind of $1. Hero raises to $8, 1 fold, Button raises to $23, 2 folds, Hero raises to $65, Button calls $42. Villain has been 3-betting me light, so I 4-bet bluff Flop: ($133) A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players) Hero checks, Button checks. But I flop something. However, after calling, I think villain's range is JJ+, AK and decide to try and get value on later streets from villain on those hands that I'm ahead of, in particular AK. Turn: ($133) Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players) Hero checks, Button checks. Worse card in the deck. A little intrigued by his check behind though. River: ($133) T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players) Hero checks, Button bets $100 I only beat a K and he's not betting that on the river here is he? Especially not after the board pairs. What am I 4-betting preflop that he beats. Nothing. Therefore, standard fold here, right? |

You should bet flop and get called by AK and I think you have to call river as played as he could easily be bluffing after all this checking.

What could he be bluffing with?

no dude, i don't fold river, thats for sure. The only hand that beats us that makes sence really is QQ (mayybe AA checks flop). And I really think that given how you played the hand, he could bet a king for value
Also, I bet the flop, inducing bluffs in 4bet pots is redic. |

Re: 200NL - 4-bet bluff got me in trouble.
I think AK makes up a huge part of his range
I would be tempted to lead river, but since he's almost always going to bet a king there anyway this is fine |

Also, I bet the flop, inducing bluffs in 4bet pots is redic. [/ QUOTE ] I don't understand. If I had a K in his position I dont think I'd fire out a $100 river bet for value. Is that wrong? |
