Default crazy tournament structure. who plays these things?

please tell me i'm nit for even thinking about playing this.
the buy-in is $32+$13. so they rake 29% of the prize pool. that should be the first red flag.
top 10 out of 100 get paid. not bad.
blinds start out at 25/50 with 2000 chips. starting M=26.7
i knew all that but played it anyway. i lasted for about an hour and a half before i got knocked out. whatever. so i hung out for a while and came back to the tables when it was down to the money to see how everyone was doing.

on the bubble, with 20,000 avg chip stack, the blinds were 1,000/2,000/500. that's five HUNDRED chip ante. half of a small blind equals one ante. avg M=2.5. i was flabbergasted. that's standard at this place. i am pretty sure all those antes give you pot odds to limp in with 23o pre-flop. might as well push any 2.
they said the previous level was 400/800/100. avg M was 8.1 at the final 2 tables right before the bubble. (the smallest denomination on the table was the 100 chip.) if i wanted to play the lottery, i would have. i must be a nit for even thinking about returning to the POKER ROOM in JACKSONVILLE FL.

in MN / WI these types of tourneys are standard. Maybe not to that extreme... talking with other 2+2ers we've surmised that these tourneys are simply for the poker-t.v.-watching-wanna-play-texas-hold'em-fish and so that the casino can say "we listen, we have a tourney". They are there to get people in the door and move them through to the raked cash games more quickly.

I'm sure you've figured that out by now. Staying and playing the cash games as the fish go busto, ah, priceless.

Heck, I go to these tourneys and put my name on the board and wait for the first table to open after... +EV. Listening to terrible bad beat stories -EV

i wasn't making a bad beat story or a trip report. maybe some tournament players like those antes. i would like to hear from them. i guess it is a legitimate poker game. a good poker player should be able to adapt to strange rules, right? maybe i'm overreacting.
