Default Did I play these hands too fast?

Ok these are 2 hands that I dropped in the last 2 hours or so and I have a few questions and was looking for some advice.

Do you try and play a little bit slower and give yourself a shot to make a read and either slow down or possibly even fold? Or do you go right at a guy knowing youre a great favorite and let the cards determine your future

No, you didn't play them too fast. Both times you got all of the money in on a drawy-board with the best hand. You didn't win here, but ultimately villains mistakes will be your gain. nh's

Yea my only problem is that this stuff really is pouring down upon me right now, its 2 of about 10 similar situations where I seem to come out on the short end. Hind sights 20-20 I guess but I look at the hands and go "Man the Q of diamonds woulda been the worst card for me, I woulda check called here on the river" and then I see the club on the turn and think "had I smooth called his raise and seen the turn I probably woulda check called the turn and probably pitched on the river" so question is, if youre going through a rough patch in your play, taking some beats, is it a positive or negative decision to try and see all 5 and use my reading ability(something I pride myself on) to save myself some money? I know it goes both ways bc I wont stack these guys when they miss their draws, but it seems to be more of them making than me missing out on bets

Convert. Don't show results yet.

Hand 1 what is your read that makes you think pushing will be called with a worse hand?

Hand 2 is standard against a shortstack.

Hand #1 - I don't like pushing with 2 pair. I know you got your money in good but it's not a hand that has much of a chance to improve by the river (4 Outs). Unlike a set which has 10 outs on the river. Just make a raise that makes it wrong for him to chase to about. Then push a non-club turn. I think this is a stronger play, because you would be making villain call two large bets instead of one. I think its a lot harder to call a big bet on a draw with only one card to come than it is with two. There is a section in the NLTAP study group on the hammer of future bets. See the sticky. Anyone else think this is logical? Trying to rethink my game a little in these situations.

Hand 2 is fine. Just a suck out. Remember he overvalues his TPGK, for when you hit a set against him.

You got the money in when ahead, and there's never anything wrong with that. But that doesn't mean it's the optimal way to play the hand. Hand #2, pretty standard. But hand #1 has 11 outs vs. you, plus a couple runner/runners which makes him a fairly small dog. Getting the money in now probably gives you less equity than betting large enough now that he's not getting odds to chase, then pounding him on the turn where he can't call. He got there on the turn in this case (which was a horrible card for you, QJ gets there, too) so you may have been able to get away from the hand at that point if you had substantial chips behind.

BBV?

why push 2p? only hand that will call is set, or huge draw (and idiots).

few players will gamble for stacks with not even a nut flush.
