Anthropomorphizing
Sometimes when doing menial tasks, my mind wanders and I find myself assinging personalities, needs and wants to random stuff in my house.
In putting away dishes last night, apparently my tupperwear containers were more than happy to be all snug and resting together, but the lids felt opressed and silenced by being forced togther. Sometimes I feel like my smaller glasses are jealous of the big ones. I've done this with numbers as well. I always tend to think that odd numbers are more disagreeable and smug than even numbers. 7 especially is something of a [censored]. To some extent with letters as well, N's obvious inferiority complex to M being the most obvious. G also bosses around H a touch. Am I alone here? |

Re: Anthropomorphizing
I've never thought to do anything remotely like this and have a hard time grasping why someone would. This seems very, very far out there for me.
Does it make said menial tasks more entertaining or fulfilling? |

Re: Anthropomorphizing
The number thing is fairly common.
On that note - if you had to assign male/female to the odds/even numbers which would you assign to what? The overwhelming majority go one way - I actually go the other and completely don't understand the other sides reasoning. I also then give them personalities - but really the personalities I feel they have dictate the gender I assign. I recommend reading about synesthesia, since this can be a form of that. It is surprisingly rare - I was shocked since I exhibit it a lot (as do a lot of artists supposedly). It's quite an interesting subject. |

Re: Anthropomorphizing
wow, didnt know there was a word for this.
Yeah I do this. Not really with letters, but to a small degree with numbers. But I definitely do this with objects. I've always figured I was weird for this, maybe this will be another case of 2p2 showing me that Im not as [censored] up as I think I am, cuz plenty of other people do the same thing. |
