Default 4/180.. just after money, question concerns both parties

Can't use a converter cause I'm at work, so I'll just remove the extra stuff.

Background: About the 5th hand just after the money. I sat at a table with 6 stacks above 10k with 37 people left. With 20 people left, I had about 18k and I had three others at my table with more, and 2 with 16k and one with 13k. Villain sat at a table with 5 stacks below 10k, with only his stack above average and it looks like he ran the table with them, as all 5 of them left the table with less than 8k stacks.

Fifth hand since his table closed and he moved to mine. He hasn't played a pot yet, and he hasn't seen me play either. I have no reads at all on him and I'm assuming that he doesn't on me either (never played with him before). The way the hand played out, I can not see him folding if I call the original bet instead of raising on the flop. If we make it to the river, he might have folded to the two over cards, but I really don't think I could call a flop/turn bet and have enough fold equity to push the river on a bluff.

For me, is this a standard all in reraise? I had no problem here just taking the blinds and his original raise. There is no way I would invest 33% of my stack just to see the flop and fold if I didn't hit it. After I went all in, he thought about the call for about 40 seconds before he made it.

For him, is this an easy call on my all in? He did invest about 25% of his chips preflop with the original raise, but losing this hand would cripple him to the point of having between 4-5M. I'm going to leave the results in because I think it's imperitive to see what the villain had to make the decision on if he was correct in calling preflop.

For the record, I think that my preflop all in was okay, but I'm really wondering more if he made the right call. I'm trying to better my play because my results lately have been less than ideal and I'm trying to patch up the gaping holes.

An alternative is a flat call then a shove for a stop-n-go since you're on the BB and will be first to act after the flop. When it's all-in preflop your opponent doesn't have as much information to scare him as he does after the flop. IF he sees 2d 3h Th on the flop and you should have has to wonder if you paired a Ten, or if you had a decent overpair like JJ that you might be hesitant to shove preflop. I don't think the shove is that bad either since you're not deep enough to get tricky although you'll often end up in coin flips like this sometimes you'll be up against AQ or AJ if the player is really weak/desperate.
