Acceptable winrate at different levels of VPIP?
What would be regarded as acceptable winraste at the following average VPIP/preflop raise?
I know that this is difficult and there are so many other factors that contribute but just a rough idea would be nice to have (if anybody knows or can guesstimate)... Level 1/2 and average VPIP/pf raise of... a - 23/5 b - 23/9 c - 25/5 d - 25/9 And if someone gets annoyed with the generality of the question please feel free to read another post instead of berating my question (which frequently happens here...but thats maybe because im stoopid...)... Thank you all... |

Re: Acceptable winrate at different levels of VPIP?
You're thinking backwards.
1) Any winrate above 0 is acceptable. 2) Your VPIP should be adjusted for a higher winrate. Not your winrate adjusted for your VPIP. |

Re: Acceptable winrate at different levels of VPIP?
I realize this.
I just want to get a rough idea of what would be considered a "good" winrate at these levels. Or is that asking faaar toooo much???! |

Re: Acceptable winrate at different levels of VPIP?
perhaps if you explain your reasoning for asking this question it would make more sense....
eg are you asking because you are looking through PT at players with these groups of stats? |

Re: Acceptable winrate at different levels of VPIP?
No, its because I am playing at a site where the average levels fluctuate between the above mentioned numbers.
So I basically just want to get some idea of how I am doing... |

Re: Acceptable winrate at different levels of VPIP?
You'll need many tens of thousands of hands before you'll know how you are doing using the winrate metric, at least with any sort of accuracy. Check this linkage:
uDevil's Poker Results Calculator Using the default settings of a winrate of 2BB/100, over 20,000 hands and a SD of 16BB/100, you could still be a losing player. Hence the general advice of posting hands and responding to posted hands. It doesn't matter if you win or not, just that you make decisions that will make money over the long run. |

[ QUOTE ] Any winrate above 0 is acceptable. [/ QUOTE ] [/ QUOTE ] no it's not. trust me, play like 140k hands at 0.33/100 and you'll agree. if that ended up being my lifetime earn, I'd probably have to quit poker, because the swings are pretty unbearable at that winrate. |

[/ QUOTE ] I'm just going to expand my answer for me personally here, and it's a subjective thing, certainly. --- I think I'd be willing to live with like 1.2/100, but 2/100 feels pretty relaxed and that's what I'd prefer. I'd probably be willing to give up like 1/5 of my earn to go from 1.2/100 to 2/100. (assuming a SD of something like 20, and assuming I could afford to give up that portion of my earn). --- ... now I'm going to read the OP. edit: yeah, it's a dumb question... not enough detail to answer it. to the OP, look at some players with stats like you're asking about, whose game you respect, gather like 10-50k ahnds on them and see how they do. |
