Default GROSS: Slowplayed top set facing deep stack turn push

This is just gross. I know I should raised the flop but i decided to get tricky, because the villain was very agressive: 30/25/3.5

This is either the nuts or a sick bluff. If its a bluff it may be induced by my weak turn bet, so i guess i should bet more on the turn.

If I had a normal 100BB stack i would call this, but 200BB deep i didn't want to gamble.

Anyone calls the turn here?

You said it all yourself.

This is sick. Nice fold. And you should have raised the flop, a lot. I've got nothing to add.

I see no reason to reraise this preflop.

Me neither. UTG made a 5xBB raise. We could be up against AA/KK. If I 3-bet he could go all-in and i would have to fold.

I guess we shouldn't openraise from the button either? After all, one of the blinds could have AA/KK.

Don't be ridicilous. There's a difference between UTG making nonstandard 5xBB raise and facing blinds....

I sincerely hope you're kidding about those being comparable situations.

If you open-raise from the button, you only have to raise to 4 or 5 BB, your opponents' starting ranges are completely open and their calling ranges are pretty wide, as they might put you on a button steal.

If you reraise here, you have to raise to maybe 14 BB, the villain's starting range is much narrower, since he raised UTG, and his calling and reraising range is even tighter.

In the first situation, if they play back you more or less love your hand, in the second, if he plays back you're toast.

The sad thing is, this could very well be A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]A.
