That's not a min-reraise first, but second... I don't know, you've already put in 3BB and he only has 14BB. You of course only have 16BB so losing this hand absolutely cripples you as you'll have to go all-in on the very next hand. If you had 4k, I put him all-in without any thought. Since you barely have him covered, a fold has to be considered.
I have no idea the table dynamic, was he re-raising much PF? Ever? Have you played with him before, any reads other than "tightish?" I could see him having hands that you're ahead of, even dominating. Just from "tightish" I'd put a re-raise at JJ+, AKo, AKs, maybe AQs. The thing is, why is he raising so small? He clearly wants to get at least 600 more out of you and is expecting to go all-in on flop. For this reason I have to lower his range to QQ+, and MAYBE AK, but again AK wants to be pushing here. Clearly he wants action, I say fold (and I'm not one to fold QQ pre-flop very often) Also, do you have any stats on this guy from OPR or PokerDB? Those are entirely relevant to this decision I think. |

Given the short stacks, I'd expect a tight player to shove 88+, AQ+, AJs+, perhaps KQ here.
This small raise for half his stack really confuses me. It's effectively a push, because he is never folding. He just told us something though. I understand your idea of folding, especially given that you have both been tight. I push this pretty automatically given stacks only. But I'm not quite sure what range to put villain on, and I guess that is about all this comes down to. |

[/ QUOTE ] The small re-raise is definitely the telling part. I mean, we know he's going to call a push right? So why's he raising small? Clearly he wants us to be going in and doesn't want to scare away by pushing. This is the sole reason why I'd even consider folding this. Would I be able to do it in the heat of the moment? I don't know, but it's an interesting hand nonetheless. |
