Casino w/ the Best/Worst Pokerroom Food?
For those who play at poker rooms w/ free food...what types of food does your casino poker room offer and which places have the best/worst food?
(free food is what i'm wondering about...cuz if it's pay food...dayam! The Bellagio and Commerce Casinos are the best!) -TheMan |

Venetian's food is top notch as it comes from the Grand Lux cafe. I finally got to eat in there a couple weeks ago, nice atmosphere, cute waitress/servers, and good food.

too bad...i don't live near Vegas to experience that. Motorcity Casino (in Detroit), though, has sandwiches, soda, cookies and chips that are free. The sandwiches are TERRIBLE (stale, old soggy meat, dried up lettuce/tomatoes, and stank cheese)..though the cookies are first rate.

Re: Casino w/ the Best/Worst Pokerroom Food?
V's food ain't free, exactly. You earn it $1/hr by playing. Though they did have bags of caramel popcorn for free when I did the $340 deepstack 2pm tourney a few days ago.
Aladdin used to bring out cookies at 3pm or 4pm--they were pretty darned good, actually, but I figured they were basically the leftovers coming off the buffet as they switched from lunch to dinner. Dunno, though, and I haven't been there in many months so they may have stopped. IP used to offer cookies, flavored coffee, and for a couple hours a day crappy finger sandwiches. They stopped those for a while, but I recall reading someone here say they have some such things again. Haven't checked in a while to see for myself. Sahara brings out sub sandwiches at 8pm for folks who enter the $62 7pm tournament. And if you happen to be in a cash game at the time and the tourney players don't eat it all, nobody minds if the cash game players snag leftovers once the tourney resumes after the break. Ummmm... Monte Carlo has free Jolly Ranchers. I'm struggling here to come up with more. Vegas poker rooms just don't believe in free food given away in the poker room. Pretty much you get $1/hr in comps as the standard. |

Re: Casino w/ the Best/Worst Pokerroom Food?
Best free food in LA is at the Bike. Play 100NL or 20/40 or higher in the plaza and all food is free. The Mexican Shirmp is awesome. Most of the Asian food is very good too. Free Lox and bagel is also very good.
Hustler is a close 2nd, you get about a buck per hour comp and food is served table side. Taste is very good. Steak and shrimp is very good, Kung Pao shimrp/ beef very good. If you can get a service person at Hollywood park, which is always just 50/50, their food seems to be the worst in LA. |

In LA I think Hustler is the best because of their selection. Hollywood Park is by far the worst.
Ocean's 11 is fantastic and the best by far anywhere I've been. -DeathDonkey |

Casino Aztar in Evansville, IN. You sometimes get a seven dollar comp for the deli on the boat which is barely edible. I long time ago, the Excalibur used to have a little steamtable in the poker room and they would bring out free food. The fish sticks were nasty, but that might be ancient history.

[/ QUOTE ] Plus the Aztar acts like you are asking for bars of gold if you ask for a deli comp, especially if you aren't a regular. Then the deli food sucks enough that you wondered why you bothered. Seriously, I'll just go spend $5 for a burger at Fast Eddie's (just outside the casino) rather than grovel with the Aztar staff to eat their crappy food. |

[/ QUOTE ] The free food at Excalibur is gone since they moved the room. No big loss, though, as it was nasty. Although it was entertaining/disturbing watching all the middle-aged fat guys run over there as soon as they brought out the food. |
