Re: AQ oop
I would not RR preflop OOP against a tight raiser with AQ.
But... as played... I can't see checking the flop after representing that much strength pre, and in saying that, I don't hate your bet size. What's his range on the turn? I could see him calling PF and the flop with KQ if he thinks you're overly aggressive -- you didnt note how you were playing. That's probably fairly unlikely and his other possible hands have you beaten badly imho. I dunno, I think it's ok post-flop with a fold at the turn. |

Re: AQ oop
I like a check on the flop. Here though you really don't beat much at all. AK got there which floated you and he could easily have a big pair. Fold.

Re: AQ oop
A 16/9's range has got to be pretty thin for calling a 3-bet, no?

Re: AQ oop
ejay,
as mentioned, no need to pop it preflop vs. this specific guy. even if he is raising from the button, i don't think you can lump it into the traditional LP open raise/steal category. check flop. stop the bleeding. unless you think you can make an overpair laydown right here (minimal chance) there is no value in your bluff. check/fold turn. you were looking for a K, not a Q. you still don't beat the hands you think he has on the flop. |
