Default \"You mean bluffing?\" \"So you\'ve heard the term?\"

Villain is LAG-y, but seems reasonably intelligent. I've seen him bet-fold the turn and river before.

$1/$2 6-max online

I'm the BB with A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]

Folded to villain who opens on the button, SB folds, I trey and he calls.

Flop:
T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]5[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]3[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]

I bet and villain calls.

Turn:
9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]

I check, villain bets, I raise.

What say you?

Well it's not a bluff, that's for sure. It's not really very bad if he bets mindlessly when you check. If he's smart enough to check behind ace high or KQ KJ QJ on the turn (ie. he will see your check as a screwplay or defensive check), then I much prefer betting and calling down a raise.

i'm fine with it against a LAG. Normally you hit these guys in the nose with second pair and they back down.

that's when your lineman gets the guy with the puck and slams him into the...

Say I have AK and raise preflop and only button coldcalls. Flop is 884, I bet, he calls. If I check the turn planning to showdown my AK high, this is a defensive check since I am defending myself from putting in more than 2 bets to go to showdown. Eventually you just get taken to value to when you use this line, though.

Checking OOP, but he bets, so the max you put in is 1 on the turn and 1 on the river, as opposed to being raised on the turn?

I don't mind it if you think villain will not b/f here.
