Re: Everytime I watch the 2005 WSOP ME FT...
You know, it's easy to bag on a guy who makes a couple of stupid plays at the end of a long, grueling multi-day tourney. Lazar's not a pro. He was exhausted (by his own admission). He was already guaranteed more money then he ever expected to make - $1.5M. To that point his biggest tourney cash out was around $14k.

I love when Black knocks him out and goes over to commiserate him and Lazar goes "i just HAD to call you you'd been playing so aggressive" and Black gives him a WTF look!

I laugh my ass off at Scott Lazar [/ QUOTE ] I agree. This is one of the most ridiculous sequences of hands I have ever seen televised. I understand he is not a big time pro. I understand he is tired. I understand he is already guaranteed more money than he has ever seen. Regardless, this was the final table of the biggest, richest, and most important poker tournament in history at that point. He didn't make it to the final table by playing like a complete donkey for seven days (I hope). The two plays that ultimately bust him from the tournament were ridiculous. He CALLED two all ins with K9 and Q10 respectively. I'm not exactly sure of the stack sizes, but that is horrible. What are you beating with K9 and Q10? What are you even in DECENT shape against? 88 through 22? Wow. Just wow. "Yeah, Andy, you've been playing so aggressively, I thought you just pushed in with Q9 on me...Thought you might have had K8 there Joe." As Barry would say, "LOL Donkaments." |
