Default QQ on overcard board

MP3 is loose-passive and seems incapable of folding postflop.

Bet the turn and check the river. There's always a chance that he holds QT, let's say, and draws to the GS. Having checked the turn, he might conclude that his T is goood and bets that out. In addition, many players peel the flop very liberally, so betting again on the turn will get them to fold a number of times where they wouldn't on the flop. So make him pay while he still might be drawing.
As even passive players bet sometimes if checked to, I'd probably call the river. Sometimes, even a passive player will have Q6 here.

Why did you slow down on the turn? No one showed any aggression on the flop. You have to bet the turn.

EDITED TO ADD: Frets right about the River as well. You havent shown any aggression, so the Villain is bound to bet the River with anything, he could have JJ, 99, etc. You should call the river

Fret: He´s not folding. The read was he is incapable of folding postflop.

Dam: Villain is not bound to bet the river with anything. The read is he is passive.

Damn, misread that for "preflop". Anyway, reasoning still applies. We're betting the turn because that's when he's still potentially drawing. Also, we'll often get the chance to check behind on the river, if we chose to do so.

Edit to add: If he's literally incapable of folding post, then the river probably is a bet/fold as well.

I think exactly the same. If he really calls down with all kinds of junk, then the turn bet is purely for value. In this case probably bet the river as well.

grunch

I've been having problems with this at 6max. Loose passives will not bet top pair for any reason. That being said i think you should fire the third barrel on the turn and check behind as fishstick checks the river.

You say MP3 seems incapable of folding postflop, but what about preflop?

If you really think MP3 is bad enough to be calling the flop bet with 73o, then I guess you can value bet the turn.

I think it's okay as played. If he's passive, then he's not going to bluff the river and won't value bet it without a pretty decent hand and your fold is correct.

I find these difficult.

Suggest checking the flop....with intention of check raising if he bets. If that doesn't scare the villain in to folding I'd assume he has top pair and muck unless there's a value bet.

Would be interested to hear other people's take on this approach.
