I want to dropship my product...what is a standard deal?
Does anybody know what a standard deal is for dropshipping?
We are manufacturing a product that retails for $74.99. We've gotten interest from a few sites that would like us to dropship for them. Is there a standard percentage that is typically used in these arrangements? What factors come into play? I imagine that we need to ask for more per unit than we do with a traditional storefront. I just have no idea how much more. |

Re: I want to dropship my product...what is a standard deal?
Just to clarify...
You are the manufacturer of a physical product? What is your manufacturing cost? You currently wholesale the product to retail establishments? Do you have a current wholesale pricing schedule that varies based on order size? (presumably you are already shipping to the retail stores) Do you have the infrastructure currently in place to handle dropshipping to individual consumers? What do you estimate as your cost/unit differential between shipping to retailers and shipping to consumers? (including all costs, not just actual shipping charges) |

What % of your margin is it worth to have them do your marketing for you?

It may have to change mow as one of the sites that would like to take on our product also has a print catalog that they mail to over 30,000 customers quarterly. I suppose the actual shipping costs plus labor to ship say, ten units to ten different addresses, rather than one shipment to one retail outlet may equal a few dollars per unit. |
