Villain seems like a pretty good TAG. He's very aggro postflop (overly so, IMO). He's very capable of be tricky and has all the standard tricks in his repertoire.
$2/5NL (5 handed) SB HERO ($1484.74 in chips) BB ($86 in chips) UTG ($129.87 in chips) CO ($136.46 in chips) BUTTON (VILLAIN) ($845.58 in chips) HERO posts small blind $2 BB posts big blind $5 PREFLOP Hero is dealt 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] Folded to Button, who makes it $20. I'd been pretty aggro the past few hands and I didn't want to get stuck OOP w/ 99 against a thinking in a reraised pot, so I just called. BB folds. FLOP Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 4[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 2[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] Hero bets $30, Villain raises to $100, Hero calls. I think he raises this flop with much more than a FD and better made hands. So I call. Stacks are deep so I expect him to check the river a good amount. Then I can see about the river. TURN 3[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] Hero checks, Villain bets $175, Hero? Seems like he's just putting pressure. I think he does this w/ sets, FD, and any A that just picked up the SD (except AA). With AA, KK, AQ, etc. I would expect him to check with stacks this deep. |

Did you bet the flop to induce a raise? Doesn't seem like a great plan in this spot. I prefer c/c flop. But I reraise preflop here almost always.

Yea I agree I dont like the donk bet unless you know what to do against a reraise. I would probably play this passive against this opponent.
Also how does he view you? I think hes 100% betting the turn with AA KK AQ, he thinks you are weak, a draw, middle pocket pair, or a Q, no way you have an overpair or a set unless you are super tricky. I think this is a bad spot to take a stand against this opponent. |

I'd rather CR this flop than b/c it, and CR it is really bad.
Just repop it pre and lead out this kind of flops. If just calling it pre, c/c the flop obv. As played, muck it. |
