Final Pot: 7.25 BB

I had been running this table over for the last hour showing down a lot of winners. Villian is a loose passive fish 63/7/.3 over about 100 hands. He had called me down with everything from Ahigh to bottom pair to two pair. I had seen him donk bet river b4 with bottom pair of 2's but mostly he liked to call down any hand with showdown value and usually only bet strong hands. Should I have played this hand differently? I'd appreciate comments on any street.

I'd fold 55 UTG unless I've been drinking. Flop and turn are fine, as long as you're planning on folding to a checkraise on either street. The river you can fold. But, there are two busted draws that didn't get there, so calling isn't too bad. But you're probably not good here 1/7 times against this guy.

I usually fold preflop. I think your flop play and river play are standard.

The river is close becuz every single draw missed and you said youve seen this guy donk bottom pair before in this kind of spot. Getting 6.25-1 I think calling the river is +EV against this guy but im sure its close/debatable.

What's the minimum pocket pair you are raising UTG if you are folding 5's. 6's? 7's? 8's?

fold PF usually, as played its ok, u raised preflop which is a must if u decide to play the hand. If he is not reraising u then continue to value bet the donk, if u get resistance back down.

I raise 55 UTG as the bottom of my range UTG and I would get in the exact same trouble as you did in this hand.

Postflop is standard for me. I call that weird river bet.

I pretty much never raise 22-44's, and I pretty much always raise 77s+. 55s & 66s are the tweener hands, but I would say close to 95% of all 2+2ers raise 66's UTG so 66s is not exactly a tweener hand for most people. 66's used to be a default raise for me but lately Ive changed it to a read based raise. I would raise 55's only if all the players behind me were likely to fold, most importly the BB. Generally speaking, given the way I table select, I'm never in a postion where open raising 55's UTG will be +EV.

just keep calling it down, poker is a learning process you will find out where to draw the line of when to fold these hands the result doesnt matter much
