Default QQ, 14 left, winner take all

Ok I rarely play tournaments (normal game is 5/10nl 6max) but for some reason I have it in my head that I need to win a seat into the WSOP ME so I'm playing a sat to get in... 45 players, winner gets the seat, 2nd gets nothing.

There are 14 left, blinds are 150/300, I've got 11,000 and I'm second in chips (but there are several stacks close to mine), the chip leader is UTG has 16,000.

No real reads on CL but, no offense to anyone here, whenever I play a tournament I basically give people no credit for any good at poker.

We're 7 handed, CL (UTG) makes it 750, folds to me in the CO, I have QQ and make it 2100, folds back to UTG who pauses for about 2 seconds and shoves it in. While I'm contemplating my action he types in the chat "please call"

What's the play here... on one hand, I'm not sure I want to tangle with the CL here when I've got a nice 30bb stack, but on the other hand I'd like to have a big chip lead when the two tables of 7 break down to 1 table of 9... since second place is worth nothing.

So do I gamble it now hoping he has JJ or AK and try to build a stack to go the distance or do I wait for a better spot still having about 30bb ?

Also what do you make of the chat?

Thanks,

KoW

I wouldn't worry about tangling with the chip leader in a WTA. You are getting about 1.4-1 pot odds. It is hard to fold QQ with 37xBB.

I don't like the raise to 2.5xBB UTG followed by the push. JJ or AK are likely to raise more initially.

What was your plan in dealing with a push when you reraised? Maybe better to flat call if you don't know what to do against a push.

I think this is a call.

The 2 key factors for me are winner take all. If you had been in the money and had the 2nd most chips, I might wait until I see UTG do it again.

The 2nd factor is that you are 7 handed. His range is much greater. I think it is TT or worse is a possibility.

The main arguement for folding is that the blinds are still relatively small.

Ehm lol.

Anyway, I think KK/AA often flat calls the reraise here. Thusly, I make a heroic call myself with the QQ...probably. The chat? Who knows. I'd basically just ignore it, depending on the guy it can mean either or.

FWIW, I think my biggest single MTT leak is giving my opponents too much credit for being able to play poker.

I think this is a definite call based solely on the winner take all structure. You may be well behind but I think you have to take your chances. The small raise from UTG indicates strenght but there is also a chance that he is trying to represent AA or KK.

Regarding the chat, I try ignore it. It can mean strenght or weakness depending on the person and I generally never have any idea.
