LOTR: The Two Towers (SIGNUP THREAD)
Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers
Starts Monday, March 5. Good: Gandalf: Seer, with Night 0 peek. Aragon: Angel, cannot protect Frodo or Sam. 50% protection on Gandalf and himself. Frodo: Masons with Sam. Ring-Bearer. Sam: Masons with Frodo. If Frodo dies, Sam becomes the Ring-Bearer. If both are dead, the One Ring is lost. Merry: Masons with Pippin. Pippin: Masons with Merry. Legolas: Gets one Night Kill. Knows he's one or the other, but not which. Gimli: Gets one Night Kill. Knows he's one or the other, but not which. Ring-Bearer: The Ring-Bearer gets a peek each night, starting with Night 1. If the Bearer is killed at night, that night's peek is wasted. If the One Ring is lost, all village power roles lose their powers, including masonries and Night Kills not used prior to the loss of the Ring. Evil Sauron: At the start of each night, can peek for the Ring-Bearer. However, if he peeks Pippin, he's told Pippin is the Ring-Bearer. Saruman: Godfather. Peeks as "Villager". Witch-King: Roleblocker. Ugluk: Uruk-Hai leader. Each night, can give a name. If that person is Merry or Pippin, then they are captured and their vote is worth 0 as long as Ugluk is alive. Merry and Pippin will not know if they've been captured, and death will not reveal this information. Shelob: Big-ass spider. Her vote target is poisoned at nightfall, and remains poisoned for the following two days. A poisoned player gets an extra 2 votes added to his lynch total (including the night they were stung). The target is not aware that they are poisoned, nor will death reveal this information. The same player can be poisoned multiple times, and the poisons will stack. Once there are fewer than 10 players left, new poisonings only add 1 vote. Theoden: Terrorist. Cannot night chat, and does not know the identities of the Evil team, but they know his. Can kill any player, day or night, at the cost of his own life. To kill someone during the day, make a bolded post "I am Theoden. I blow up X". At that point, Theoden and Player X should be considered dead and may not post. Anyone faking this message will be mod-killed. The kill cannot occur in the final ten minutes before nightfall. However, If Gandalf peeks Theoden, Theoden becomes a powerless villager, and Saruman loses his Godfather status. Furthermore, if Gandalf has already peeked Saruman, he learns his true identity retroactively. This event will be publically announced, but no identities will be revealed in the announcement. If Theoden attempts to blow someone up at night and is peeked by Gandalf the same night, the peek happens first. The evil team has one additional ability. Any night while Ugluk is alive, they can give up their nightkill and instead choose to Kill the Captives. If either (or both of) Merry and Pippin has been captured, he dies. Independent Gollum: Gets three attempts to steal the One Ring during the game. At night, optionally names one or more people he believes to be the Ring-Bearer. This peek happens first, before any kills, and cannot be role-blocked or protected against. If he is correct, he takes the One Ring, wins, and leaves the game. Frodo and Sam lose their masonry and seer abilities, but everyone else is unaffected (i.e. the One Ring is not "lost" to the Evil side). If Gollum dies, or uses all three peeks without success, or if the One Ring is lost, then Gollum loses and leaves the game. Gollum may not use this ability on the first game night (N1). -------- I've gone through a number of different ideas for Gollum and Shelob in this game, including versions where they're independent masons and Shelob is a SK. If anyone hates this one, let me know. I'm quite happy with the RotK Gollum, but the TTT concepts were hard to balance in. (When giving an opinion about Gollum, bear Theoden's role in mind, because they interplay when there are roleclaims) Nobody acts Night 0 except Gandalf. There are no plot-based events. 26 roles: 8 members of the broken Fellowship, 6 dark servants, 12 helpless villagers. Roles and powers subject to change if they're too complicated or unbalanced. |

In, if I am a wolf I'll try to die first day again. Works brilliantly!
