Photo Assignment #1: Doors
Just so the thread is more enjoyable for all, let's adhere to a few guidelines to make browsing and loading a bit easier.
Please post all comments in the discussion thread: Link[/b] You can post as many photos as you like, but if it is a competition thread, please indicate which one you would prefer to use for voting. Also, use discretion. You'll probably get better feedback on fewer photos. Voting for the contest will occur on the last day of the month. You can use photos previously taken, or taken for the topic. Any camera format is welcomed! Size: The actual image can be whatever size you like, if offlinked. The size in the thread should be no larger than a width of 700 pixels please. If possible, post whatever info you can provide about the photo and the shooting conditions (ie focal length, exposure time, aperture) as others may find this useful. Onthebutton recommends using Imageshack to host a smaller thumbnail linked to an offsite photo. The forum formatting is done for you. The downside is that after a certain bandwidth, you can no longer see the photo. Comments: Again, there is a discussion thread for any comments. Please post your thoughts there. Future subjects and topics for contest will be discussed there as well. Thanks for letting us use the forum, El Diablo. And so, February's assignment is Doors. Have at 'er! I'm glad it's a bit warmer this week where I live so my ass won't freeze too much to find a good candidate. |

Well, I guess I'll get it started. Please let me know if I do something incorrectly and I'll change it if I can.

This picture was taken outside of Lhasa, Tibet at Sera Monastery. Every afternoon monks congregate here to "debate".

Round midnight. Tungsten film, about 2 minute exposure.
O% photoshop other than to get it on my computer. Flash with colored gels. Since I'm also seeing doorways as well as doors I'll include this one. Multi-exposed Tri-X. |
