Default Sportsbookcom Rips me off HORRIBLE customer service (small $ involved)

I'm so angry right now. (summary at the end)

I was playing poker at Sportsbook.com and noticed they had some no-lose bets for the Superbowl.

If you win, you keep the money, if you lose they refund your wager (within 24 hours) the rules said.

I made one bet, for $20 on which team would receive the kickoff. I was wrong. So I expected a refund of $10 to my account, which never came.

Here is a quick rundown of what happened in my quest for my $10 owed.

1. I wrote the following night after the Super Bowl, then waited four days.

2. A response, they asked if I could give them the bet ID number. I replied with it as asked, wondering why they couldn't look it up as it was the ONLY bet I made.

3. A response back five days later, saying the no lose bets had a cap of $10 that could be refunded, and mine was for $20 so no deal.

4. I rewrite and explain that I am not requesting the whole $20 to be refunded, just the 10 dollars they said was no lose. I explained that I read the rules carefully, and I would have bet 10 dollars twice, had I known they were going to be such big sticklers on the issue.

5. Another five days later, I get a reply that says:

Dear Sir,
Thank you for contacting us.
I am pleased to confirm that your withdrawal for $600 and $430 were already
sent on February 13 2007 via Fedex check.
We are always here to help you. Please feel free to reply to this email if
you have any additional questions in relation to this or any other matter.
Kind regards,
Omar Pearson

(Now I didn't mention anything about my cashout. I had only ONE cashout, and it was for $2300, not 430 and 600. I have no idea how I got that response from Omar... totally random)

6. This is yesterday now, I write back, ranting and raving about the 10 bucks. I explain once again that I only want my 10 dollars refunded as according to their rules, they should. I tell them I have wasted nearly a half hour on the issue now, and it's now a matter of principle.
I ask them to look at the amount of their GOLD CARDS I have received, 97 total, and the amount of their stupid gold chips, 251. I also let them know that if I don't get my 10 dollars back, I am gone for good.

7. Then today, (ONLY ONE DAY RESPONSE TIME THIS TIME) I get this answer.

Dear Sir,

Thank you for contacting us.

This promotion only stands for wagers of the value of $10 placed on the event. If you had placed a wager of $9 we
would not have refunded it for the same reason that your wager of $20 or any part of it won't be refunded.

If you had made the wager according to the rules of the site for $10 then we will gladly have refunded the bet. But as you did not
follow the online instructions for the free bet, we cannot refund your $20 wager.
We apologize for any inconvenience caused.
We are always here to help you. Please feel free to reply to this email if you have any additional questions in relation to this or
any other matter.
Kind regards,

Cate Stapleton

So that's it. I just let them have it, telling them that I am now telling the story on 2+2 and anywhere else. IT would have probably not come to this if the replies back and forth hadn't taken over three weeks.

Summary: Sportsbook.com loses a good customer and I hope you think before playing there.

Over 10 bucks! I pay more than that in rake per hour on average there, incredible!

(and I know, what's a guy who plays 400 NL doing leaving a site and bitching about 10 dollars for, I am a moron I know, but I hate being ass-raped by unreasonable people)

Thanks for reading.

Without having read the rules of the promotion myself I'm guessing that it specifically states that you have to bet exactly $10 for the bet to qualify.

You didn't do that.

You are over-reacting to your own mistake imo and they are just following their own rules of their own promotion.

In short, I don't think you got ripped-off (but again, I haven't read the rules. Am just guessing).

I also thought you had to make at least 5 other bets within a one week time frame. I've always found SportsBook to be EXTREMELY generous and VERY accomodating. I've always found their customer support to be great. May just be the skin I used or the manner in which I spoke to them. More bees with honey...

It does suck that they held you to a technicality. I would have called and asked to speak to a manager(Something you may still want to do). The people responding to you are most likely not paid very much or motivated by the amount of money you pay in rake. A supervisor/manager *may* be. Calling also eliminates the "misunderstood" emails that can go back and forth for days.

That's a good point I C.

I have been averaging about 4 bets with them a day for the past month and a half. I think that's what bothers me the most.

Also, they killed all my future bets when they were operating under the Paradise name. So I vowed not to use them again, but went ahead and gave in when they reopened.

I will try calling them. Good idea.

It said right in the terms to place a $10 bet, not more not less. You fcukked up. Get over it. You have spent more than $10 of your time and now others on 2+2's time over this shiat.

Now once sportsbook "freerolls" ya for a few hundred on bets they say were no actioned and then once were clear losers and then graded as losers we can talk.

It looks like you're in the wrong BellagioPlayer. The last email explained it perfectly.
