Dont know much about villain, seems pretty tight. After he called the flop raise I put him on 1010+ (maybe 77/88, seems unlikely). I think I have a bluffcatcher, but thats pretty much it. thoughts?

If you only called preflop, why not just call the flop and bet the turn?

[ QUOTE ]
not really a huge fan of the flop raise [/ QUOTE ] I could see a call on the flop here, but it's so weak and doesnt give me any information about the strenth of my hand, because I could really be calling with A-high in this situation. Dont you think its a bit too exploitable? whats my line on the turn if I call the flop, do I call a (2/3) potbet? |

I think this is okay. I like the flop raise because there are a lot of turns you won't like, and calling doesn't give you any idea of where you stand. I think I might call only if I know that the villian won't fire a 2nd-barrel unimproved. On the river, I don't think you're going to see him value betting here with a hand that you beat, and the only real bluff I can put him on after the flop call is a busted straight draw, so I think folding is okay.
Then again, I can be weak-tight sometimes. |
