BRAG: Bought an HD-DVD player last night

Picked up the Toshiba HD-A2 last night with a copy of Swordfish. And I must say it's worth the money ($450). Swordfish looked great even though it's almost 4 years old.
Now let's hope they finish the format war or make the combo players cheaper.

I just the xbox 360 hddvd player and the first 3 were broken. The fourth actually worked and all the movies I've gotten so far are [censored] awesome. Worth the money.

BEAT: Blu-Ray sales are 2:1 vs. HD-DVD, major australian retailer said they do not ever plan on stocking any HD-DVD, only blu-ray.

BEAT 2: Within 1-2 years your HD-DVD player will be worthless since most film companies are backing Blu-Ray.

BEAT 3: You paid 450 for a stupid HD-DVD player when you should have paid 600 for a PS3 so you can play games and do tons of other crap too and have a format that will be here in 2 years(dont get me started on the games-- they will eventually come)

Seriously wtf is wrong with people-- why the F would you buy a standalone HD-DVD player, there is absolutely NO reason for this and it only speaks to your stupidity and lack of knowledge of what is going on in the high definition movie industry.

There was one week where all the Sony fanboys were beating off about how Blu-Ray outsold HD-DVD in the "New Release" category, so they all latched on to it. Only problem? No HD-DVD "New Releases" for that week.

I've heard HD-DVD is the winner here too, but you just can't talk to fanboys.
