Default $22 99, stubborn calldown

PokerRoom, $20+2 daily $20k guaranteed, 1 R + 1 A

I'd like comments on all streets.

I didn't want to raise the UTG limper, so I completed the SB with 99.
I thought the flop was really good for my hand. UTG might have a K, but I took a stab.
When BB minraised my smallish bet on the flop I put him on roughly a 7.
I really didn't think the turn bet represented much of anything, so even if I was now behind a T, I called.

The river was a real tough one. I used all the time and finally made the call.

definitely raise it up preflop, give UTG a chance to make a big mistake with 22-88 and get BB out of the way.

I'd probably put in a ~1500-2000 blocking bet on the river. Your line may be more lucrative but readless it's a difficult call.

I don't like it. How had utg been playing? against most players I would raise even out of the sb here, assuming he never really has a higher pair.

Flop your reasoning is right. Most likely, you have the best hand. I would probably bet somewhere around 600 and hope to take it down. If I'm called/raised here I'll probably give up and give them credit for a king. with his min raise, turn, and river bets, he either has absolutely nothing (rarely) or a king.

you are beat here I think.

I thought his line was fishy, especially the big river bet.
If he was bluffing with A-high I think he'd at least check behind on the river. If he had a K and put me on a pocket pair, A-high or a 7, why would he try to blow me off my hand on the river? I don't consider myself a calling station, so I don't see why I should pay off an overbet.

In the end BB had Q8o and told me I was a donkey who couldn't let go of a pocket pair.
I'd like to think I had a read on the hand.
