...that logs on to MSN or whatever, pops online, then proceeds to slap on a AWAY notice right away? (Or busy or whatever.)

Can I ask why OH WHY do you guys do that? You get your ass on MSN, then proceeds to slap on a AFK or AWAY notice. If you're too busy or afk, why don't you log off? Why even log on in the first place?

I see almost everyone does this (my list and sometimes I notice a friend's list) and it just annoys me to no end.

I mean where's the friggin sense in loggin on to MSN, then immediately slap on an AFK or AWAY sign. There's an option to hide your online status if you dont want certain people to see you're online. But WHY come ONLINE then IMMEDIATELY slap on AFK/AWAY TAG. Are you guys trying to be mysterious or act busy or something?

Please, help me understand o.O

duh it's cause you want to be available but only to people you want to talk to. you don't want to be hidden because then people won't know you're online at all.

I put the afk on even when I'm not away so that undesirables aren't encouraged to initiate conversations with me.

What happens if everyone that are online are all AFK and harbors the same thought as you? Zing
