Default $25 FT, ATo w/ top two

Villain has only been in 7 hands and I've got no reads on him.

Results:
Final pot: $35.3

My thoughts:
Standard raise PF. I put in a normal bet on the flop and was surprised by the reraise. I thought he might be reraising a draw but I don't see that too much personally at $25nl so I wasn't sure. Set is also a possibility... I called and just wanted to see the turn.

Turn scared me. I don't know if I should have called, but I have trouble laying down top two there... which might be a problem.

When he checked to me at the river I was pretty sure my hand was good because he has no reason to think I would bet and he could check raise. Should I have checked in case he has a small flush?

In retrospect I'm not sure if I played the hand well at all.

Comments on all streets welcome.

I check behind river.

I'm concerned about a river c/r from a set or a flush.

Flush seems less likely, because the average player at 25nl doesn't raise a flush draw. Either way he has shown a lot of strength. Getting C/r on river probably means you have to toss your hand, and you have great showdown value right now. I just check behind and probably scoop up the pot.

How concerned should I be considering he already c/r the flop and bet into me on the turn? Would he have any reason to think I would bet on the river?

In retrospect I think checking the river is correct as well, I just wonder about how often he'll c/r there.

A value bet here is very, very thin, but honestly I think you played this fine. Thin value betting is something us uNLrs don't do very well- we don't do enough of it. Even if it didn't work here I think your instincts are fine, and a willingness to value bet thin will only help as you move up.

I think he could C/R river, because you've shown your willingness to stick around. You bet the flop, called a minraise, then called a second bet on the turn. While small bets, we don't know if he sees it that way. I would say because I don't think he knows about proper bet sizing that this is actually more dangerous for a river c/r.

A thin value bet is ok, because a lot of worse hands (lower two pairs, People who can't fold an ace or top pair.) call. My concern about a river c/r may be a bit too much, but I'd rather just take the pot now.

Isn't it more often recommended to keep the pot size small w/ only top pair?
