Default Have you seen exagerated preflop raises in 2/5 NL?

My experience is that in some live 1/2NL games the raises are fairly normal, but often you see open raises to 15 and 4 callers.

In 2/5NL, you see loose action. However, it goes more like you would expect in high limit, online, or a tournament. There will be a limper, a raise to 25 and 4 callers. People don't usually open raise to 40.

Has that been other people's experience? Have you seen crazy preflop action like in 1/2.

from my experience at winstar, the 1/2 plays a lot like the 2/5, except the stacks are smaller, and people like paying less in blinds. i can raise it to 20 in 1/2 and get as many callers as i would at the 2/5 table. i believe the reason is the more inexperienced players, that all want to play the smallest no-limit game they offer, are at the 1/2 table.

A $20 PFR is typical in the tunica 1/2 NL games. There is no max buy in though, so it plays pretty big.

If a $20 raise gets called, why not do it?

At our local 1/2 game a $15 raise usually gets 3-4 callers, and a $20-$25 raise usually gets heads up. I don't know why $20 is the crossover point.

I pick up dead money all the time by doing this...if UTG folds and I have maybe 4-5 limpers in front, I'll easily make it $50 on the button with Kx suited just to pick up the dead money...

At the Borgata I used to play 1/2 NL with a guy who hated pocket aces and kings. Every time he got them he would open raise to $60 or $70, even if no one had limped yet. He would routinely get callers.
