Observations from arbing/whoring
I'm mostly a poker guy, but have been betting sports for much longer. This has been mainly soccer though, so please excuse my dumbness on American sports.
So I've been trying to whore books just for the heck of it (time invested in poker would've yielded 10x as much at least) and stumbled across the following a phenomenon that's freaking me out. Whenever I find an arb line, mostly NBA +110 on matchbook/pinnacle vs. -110 on random sportsbook, to fulfill wagering requirements, the -110 line seems to be winning an awful lot more as I'm reloading pinnacle and matchbook like a madman which I personally hate, as busting whored accounts would be much nicer. Just variance (~80 games) or should I be putting more thought into this? This is driving me nuts. |

Re: Observations from arbing/whoring
The non-Pinny side will typically be where the value is.

Re: Observations from arbing/whoring
I quit arbing and just bet on non-Pinny side, currently hitting 60% this month.

Re: Observations from arbing/whoring
Agree with the others--when you are arbing Pinny vs another book, Pinny's line is usually much more correct. Thus, you'll reload Pinny more than everywhere else. Not so sure about Matchbook in this respect though. I've found some pretty soft lines on Matchbook before. (Not on major sports with tons of available bets obviously. But people will hang quite bad numbers from time to time.)

Re: Observations from arbing/whoring
I'm considering doing this as well, which books would you suggest to use that have the most arbable lines with pinny? I'm thinking SIA (though they have C- rating on SBR) 5dimes, matchbook, maybe WSEX.

Re: Observations from arbing/whoring
I had the same experience when I started, although I never used Pinny (I was trying to bust the bonus into Mansion Exchange). I think I did bonuses at three different books and ended up fulfilling the WR each time (with a lot of deposits to Mansion).
It took a LOT of time finding arbs, and in hindsight it wasn't worth it. So now I just play one side and it is going well. |

I meant to say I have tried arbing but will start just straight wagering the non-pinny side of the arb like others. Just wondering what books you use most frequently when you're betting that +EV side? |

Re: Observations from arbing/whoring
The consensus seems to be Pinny are sharp, but I've never seen any evidence to that effect with soccer, as opposed to North American sports. I find it difficult to believe they are going to be able to consistently significantly outperform UK high st bookies on UK premiership bets for example.
More likely what is being observed is a short-term statistical aberration. One could make the case that a lifetime of sports betting doesn't produce a statistically significant sample. |

Of course that's a sample size of one. Naj |
