Stars 5.50 TT Bubble (in SB)...
I think I must be the stupidest player on the planet, but I really am unsure what the best way to play this is. It's a slightly different situation in terms of the blind being so low 50/100, my stack being plenty big enough, a shortie to my left, and it being on the bubble.
Anyhow, my opponent wasn't a maniac, but he was loose enough. With it being the bubble he was playing a good number of hands...but just limping in. Calling some raises. In this particular hand, he could be limping in with Ax, two face cards, or a smaller pair. Anyhow...I can't imagine just limping in here, 4 handed with TT. But, I don't think it would be appropriate to push either. If you think my pf raise is okay, do you think it appropriate to check/fold on the flop with the J? I would feel a flop bet is necessary in this situation, just looking for any opinions on this hand. If it were 200/400, for example, I would be pushing all day. It's only 50/100. |

Re: Stars 5.50 TT Bubble (in SB)...
You preflop play is OK...shoving that many big blinds into a pot of that size would be unnecessary. Definitely lead out at the flop here. One overcard should not scare you into check/folding

Re: Stars 5.50 TT Bubble (in SB)...
This isn't a trivial hand, don't worry. I like the preflop raise, although I'd probably make it 325-350, and I think you probably do have to just check/fold the flop. Chips are very important to you right now. You need to preserve your stack as much as possible. C-betting isn't bad though, and I wouldn't be too surprised if this analysis is wrong.

If he's so loose and calls you all the time with Ax, two face cards, or a smaller pair, then make a probe bet of 1/4 to 1/3 of the pot.
"Send him a Message" (Harrington on Holdem The Workbook) A) You can see what he will do after that! Does he RR you? (I guess he only would called it, dont scare the J. Never forget, must flops don't hit!) B) May he thinks about your Minraise, will he trap me? C) You save your chips in this bubble situation is extreme important, he's the bigstack. |

Does anyone think that, in this very specific situation, that the following action would be completely wrong:
I complete the SB. Flop comes, I check. He bets. I fold. ?? |
