LOST Season 3, Episode 8 “Flashes Before Your Eyes”

Quick Recap **Spoilers if you are not caught up through tonights episode**

The Others Camp

1.) Kate and Sawyer have escaped The Others and are on their way back to the main island.

2.) Jack has completed the spinal surgery on Ben.

3.) In exchange for her cooperation, Ben has agreed to let Juliette leave the project and return home.

The Survivors Camp

1.) According to Desmond, the button was in place to periodically expel electromagnetic energy that builds up in the island. He also claimed that the plane crash was the result of him not pushing the button. When Locke refused to push it at the end of season 2, Desmond was forced to go under the hatch to flip a switch that would destroy the hatch (and everyone in it) as it expelled the energy. Locke, Ecko and Desmond were in the hatch when he pulled the switch.

2.) After the hatch “imploded” Locke, Desmond and Ecko all woke up elsewhere on the island. After the incident Locke has been led by visions of Boone, Desmond has been led by visions of the future and Ecko by visions of his brother

3.) Desmonds ex, the daughter of Charles Windmere, has located the island via the electromagnetic pulse.

4.) From within another hatch, Locke and the others have picked up a surveillance feed from another station housing a man with an eyepatch.

5.) Sun, Jin and Sayiid lost Desmonds sailboat to the others, in the process Sun shot and killed a woman.

What happened between Claire spitting out the water and the Lost intro? Anything? My damn cat turned off my TV.

You know, some people might say that a show would be considered to jump the shark once one of their cast acquired the ability to see the future.

Desmond's pre-cog abilities fit in so well though. The writers have set everything up so that anything that happens can easily be accepted and enjoyed by the television audience.

Unless of course Jack starts flying and takes Jules on some Superman like tour of the island and surroundings.

Charlie was obviously jealous that Desmond was saving Claire. As Desmond carried her off Charlie asked how he'd know she was drowning and Hurley replied "That guy sees the future dude".

Now that was a kick-ass opening. Desmond is the man.

They are doing a great job of making Charlie the most despised character on the show.
