World Poker Showdown Cruise

I've always found poker in vacation destinations very loose/profitable.

It will probably suck. I don't like WPS at all. Payout structure is horrendous.

Actually, I have been to three of their events and they are top notch. They do a good job at keeping it fun while running a professional event at the same time. The payout is flatter than most places (almost like Poker Stars), so I don't know why anybody wouldn't want that. Most events are top heavy and you have to win it to make it worth your while.

They allow 18 year olds to play. I'm pretty sure that one of the winners on the first one that I went to was 19.

I'm going to try and go on the cruise, but I'm not certain. I am almost 100% going to their Bahamas event though.

I understand your concern re: the payouts...but let me impart a few thoughts.
1. you're on a cruise..this is more a vacation that has poker instead of the other way around
2. you're on a cruise..it makes very good sence to spread the money out because your playing a 7 day session
3. I just finished 11th at the LAPC in a 1000.00 event, beat 439 out of 450 players and got 5200.00...17 hours of play beating 98% of the field and I make only 4K...I wish the payout was flatter I assure you
4. In the above event, had I finished 5th I would have made 23K, just 4 spots away from 150K..horrible that it's so top heavy.
5. If the payouts bother you come and enjoy some great live action and the family atmosphere we all come to feel.

I as a pro player really think flatter payouts are the right thing..in the days when there were 100 pro's playing, paying the final table was 10% of the field..now with 1200 players in some events the money needs to be spread out...
