Default $500NL ($2/$5) Live Play @ Bellagio

Dealer stakes me for $500 while the floor runs for chips. I post, check, bet top pair on the flop with 3 limpers, take down hand 1 with no show before my chips even arrive.

Hand 2 in MP with AKo, raise to $20. C-bet flop of J,10,2 and get c/r'd by UTG and muck.

Creating a real loose image which is diametrically opposed to my HOHE style. Not liking the image but I'm looking for an opportunity to exploit it.

Hand 5 or 6. UTG limps, 6 folds, Hero holds A,A on the button and pops it to $20. Blinds fold. UTG re-pops to $100. Hero shoves with $500+/-. UTG tanks for 3-4 minutes and calls with Q,Q and $350 behind. Hero holds up with 2 employees watching from the rail.

2 orbits later we haven't seen another flop since we felted the guy with smoke coming out his ears. $20 has stolen the blinds 5 or 6 times in the last 15 hands. MP pops to $15. Folds to Hero in BB with 10 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]7 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] who elects to see a flop OOP getting 2.2:1 and closing the action against what could be a monster with such a small raise. Check/fold mentality unless we hit the flop hard.

Flop: 9 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]8 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]6 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

We'll put that in the 'hit-the-flop-hard' catagory for now.

The small raise felt like a premium hand so Hero goes exploring with a $25 bet into a $32 pot for both protection and information hoping the crazy/loose/bully image is still somewhat intact. Villain smooth calls. Pot = $82

Turn: 4 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]

Hero hollywoods and quickly checks hoping Villain reads a missed steal attempt and/or incomplete draw.

Villain bets $100 into a $82 pot.

Hero???

Why is this hand even posted? The answer is raise, and raise big, what other option would there be?

Sorry, he's got another $450 behind after the $100 turn bet.

Different style of play here. I posted the same hand at another site and the general feeling was a c/r to $225-$250 on the turn instead of a shove. The pot wasn't big enough with only $182 to get him committed for another $450 so the suggestion was to c/r to $250.

As it played out I shoved and he tanked for a couple minutes before making a cryin' call with KK drawing dead.

Next time I'll just c/r the turn and shove the river to make sure he's committed...

I really like the raise to $250, and a plan to push river. A $550 bet into this pot would seem huge. If you bet $250 you are set up for an all-in on the river. I think he has a better chance of calling a $150 more than a push. Plus, you give him the oppurtunity to push.

a pot-sized raise is $382. there are plenty of draws that he can have, a raise less than that prices him in and allows him to play great because you can't fold even when his draw gets there. pushing is also better because it's live and people don't fold.
