PC Security......maybe add to the FAQ?
I found this on Digg today and just thought it was a pretty good synopsis on securing your pc. It might be worth linking to in the FAQ. Maybe not though.....just a thought.

Re: PC Security......maybe add to the FAQ?
I like it a lot because it covers things that most tuts don't.
Such as securing your browser, disabling default shares, etc. |

Re: PC Security......maybe add to the FAQ?
Setting Browser Security to High and running a software firewall is for people who love to feel protected regardless of whether or not they actually are. If you enjoy clicking dialog boxes doing mundane crap and having your PC run slower than normal, by all means, go for it. If not, get a router, and don't click on every link sent to you by your retarded workmates.
A dialog box is no replacement for a brain, simply reading and paying attention goes so much farther towards safe and secure browsing than a dialog box. |

ZoneAlarm for example is not going to noticibly slow down any 'modern' computer. I have been webbrowsing and various other activies for 5 hours. Also, having to click two dialog boxes when installing a new program isn't too crazy imo. ZA processes -- 5 hours of runtime process CPU Time Mem Usage zlclient.exe 3 secs 6500 K vsmon.exe 24 secs 20000 K |
